Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher

Carrie Fisher, the daughter of pop singer Eddie Fisher and song and dance star Debbie Reynolds was a star on her own. She appeared in some most notable films: Star Wars (of course), When Harry Met Sally, and the Blues Brothers. Debbie made her splash with Singin’ In The Rain and appeared in many other blockbusters. The bond between Debbie and Carrie was so strong. It’s no wonder that they died a day apart.


Bruce Lee

This martial artist is one of the most well known celebrity deaths.  At the age of 32, this talented man died from an allergic reaction to a painkiller.  After teaching martial arts, he became well known for his roles in many movies as well as the television show, “The Green Hornet.”  His most notable movies included “Enter the Dragon” and “Fist of Fury.”


Cory Monteith

The “Glee” star died in 2013 at the age of 31.  He had battled a drug addiction for many years.  Shortly before his death he had been to rehab.  But despite the rehab, the actor died due to blood toxicity caused by heroin and alcohol.  His death was portrayed during the show which had to write off Monteith’s character, Finn Hudson.


Buddy Holly

Buddy Holly was an amazing singer who made his mark during the 1950s.  He was most well known for songs such as “Peggy Sue” and “That’ll Be the Day.”  He had only been singing professionally for about two years when he died at the age of 22.  He was tragically killed in a plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa on February 3, 1959.


Jayne Mansfield

This well loved actress was killed along with her boyfriend in a car wreck in 1967.  She was only 34 years old when their car wrecked in Louisiana.  Although both adults died, her three children in the car survived.  One of her children later became an actress as well and is well known.  Her daughter’s name is Mariska Hargitay.


Karen Carpenter

This beloved singer suffered from anorexia nervosa.  Complications from this eating disorder led to heart failure in 1983 when she was only 32 years old.  While her death was tragic, it was a major reason for more publicity and information being shared about the disorder being shared with the public.


Brandon Lee

Like his father, Bruce Lee, this actor died much too early.  Brandon was filming his last movie, “The Crow”, when he was killed during an accidental shooting.  The actor had only been doing movies for about a year when he died but had already begun making a major name for himself.  His death was tragic and put an end on a very promising career.



This famous singer was only 22 when she died in 2001.  She died when her plane tragically crashed in the Bahamas.  Beyond her singing, she also worked as an actress and model and had been working on her professional career since she was only 10 years old with an acting job.  This was followed shortly after with a record deal when she was 12 years old.


Marvin Gaye

This singer was considered a soul music legend before his untimely death.  In early 1984, he was murdered by his own father.  There had been a fight between his parents over some business papers that Marvin Gaye tried to intervene in.  This intervention led to his death by shooting at the age of 44.


Steve Irwin

The man known as “The Crocodile Hunter” was killed at the age of 44.  Despite the fact that he was most well known for his work with crocodiles, this man was killed by a stingray barb where he was filming at the Great Barrier Reef.  At the time of his death, he left behind a wife and two young children who have continued on with his legacy.


Brad Renfro

This actor was most well known for his leading role in the movie, “The Client.”  He also acting in several other successful movies prior to his death in 2008 at the age of 25.  His death was the result of heroin overdose.


Jim Croce

This star was a well known singer and songwriter during the early 1970s.  He was most well known for his song “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown.”  Along with five others, the singer was killed when his plane crashed in Louisiana in 1973.


Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes

This singer was one of three members of the group, TLC.  In 2002, she was involved in a car accident in Honduras.  She suffered from neck injuries and severe head trauma during the wreck.  The singer was only 30 years old at the time of her death.


John Candy

This superstar was well known thanks to his roles in “Uncle Buck” and “Planes, Trains and Automobiles.” He was filming his latest movie when he died in his sleep in 1994 due to a heart attack.  The actor was 43 years old when he died.


Brittany Murphy

This actress made a name for herself in the movie, “Clueless.”  Her death in 2009 at the age of 32 was a tragedy that consisted of several factors.  She was reported to have died from a combination of pneumonia, iron deficiency anemia and multiple drug intoxication that is likely the cause of mixing medication to combat the pneumonia.


Anna Nicole Smith

This superstar was both an actress and a former Playboy Playmate of the Year.  She died at the age of 39 in 2007.  The cause of death was ruled to be a prescription drug overdose.
